Swine Flu Update from Quinlan

We have been frustrated with the lack of communication with Quinlan during his mission. It seems he doesn't love (or even tolerate) writing. So we sent him a digital recorder. He sends the recordings to us as email attachments.

I couldn't upload an audio file to the blog, so I created this movie--which is really just a photo presenter.

The audio is Quinlan and his companion reporting on the swine flu. They clearly need to get their facts straight!

Update

Sorry we haven't posted for a while, we have been a bit busy.  We moved this weekend, basically across the street.  The new place is cheaper, maybe a tiny bit smaller, louder and smellier.  We are right on the highway, so there is a lot of traffic noise.  The entire place was painted right before we moved in, and even after three days of all the windows open, the smell is bad.  Tim woke up with a cough yesterday morning (Monday), but said he felt OK and wanted to go to school.  When I picked him up from school, he looked horrible and said his chest had hurt all day.  I took him to the doctor and he has pneumonia.  He had a bad night last night, but is much better this morning.  We are starting to worry that he has asthma, as this is the third incident in two months.  We go back to the doctor Thursday.  Trinity is doing fine.  As soon as Tim is better, he will make a new My House movie.  Anyone know any tricks for getting the smell of paint out of a house?  Oh yeah, here is our new address:  8/3 Rockett Lane, Cottesloe, WA 6011

Capturing a Swarm of Bees

We woke up this morning to find a swarm of bees on one of our fruit trees. So Kyle had to suit up and get them.

First, Kyle scooped the bees into a trash can. He just gently scraped them off the tree and they fell into the can.

Kyle then poured the bees into a bee box. This box was left over from last season and there was a little bit of honey left in it, so the bees should be happy with their new home.

Finally, Kyle put a lid on the box to keep the bees in. It was raining this morning, so the bees should be happy to find a dry place.

Butterflies Body Art

Quinlan sent us this photo. Apparently he drew a butterfly on himself using a pen or a sharpie marker. It looks pretty cool. It is really remarkable that he can draw so well upside down and backwards. Kyle was pretty jealous and he wanted a butterfly of his own. He knew he couldn't draw one himself, so Roni drew it for him.
